Corona fatalities increase in Italy and a significant increase in injuries
The Italian Civil Protection Agency said on Thursday that the number of deaths due to the outbreak of the Corona virus in the country rose by 760 cases to 13915, which is slightly higher than the daily increase recorded a day ago and was 727.
The number of new cases increased steadily, increasing by 4,688, compared to 4,782 a day earlier, bringing the total number of cases since the outbreak was monitored on February 21 to 115,242.
And Thursday, is the fourth consecutive day that the number of new cases has remained within the range of 4750-4082, in what appears to reinforce the government's hopes that the epidemic has reached its climax, before the expected retreat in the near future.
Italy recorded a daily peak with 6,557 new infections reported on March 21.
Among the injured nationwide, about 18,278 fully recovered Thursday, compared to 16,847 the previous day. 4,053 people remain in intensive care, up from 4,035 the previous day.
Italy has recorded more deaths than anywhere else in the world, and accounts for about 28 percent of all global deaths from the virus.
In Lombardy, the epicenter of the outbreak, the daily number of deaths and injuries fell compared to the previous day, at 367 and 1292, respectively.
