The media official at Alexandria University, Habiba Mahmoud, revealed the truth of the circulating news about the discovery of Dr. Noha Habashi, a teacher in the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science, an Egyptian treatment for the emerging corona virus, explaining that it is still in the experimental stage, and did not reach the result of the announcement of finding a treatment.
Habiba Mahmoud said, in exclusive statements to "Al-Bawaba News", today, Thursday, that Dr. Noha closed communication with the media until she finished the experiment and reached a result, noting that she had met the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, to present the research project On him, who supported her to continue the experiment.
Dr. Noha Habashi, she and her research team, have been working on this protein since 2016, to treat other diseases, such as virus C and B, and AIDS, explaining that the protein works on cells that the virus attacks, and has succeeded effectively.
She added: "In 2017, we registered the first patents for C and B viruses, registered in the American office, and received international acclaim. With the advent of the Corona virus, we found that the whole world uses antibiotics and antivirals that are already known, and mostly for C and AIDS, so we started doing theoretical studies And scientific, to demonstrate the possibility that our discovery would be a treatment for corona, and prevent it from copying itself inside the cell, and here was the surprise, as it turned out to be very effective, capable of facing the virus itself, preventing it from controlling the lung, or transmitting the infection to more cells.
She said: "His experience with the ability of this treatment to remove one of the types of sugars as a receptor for the virus inside the cell, and thus prevents the spread of infection to normal cells, and in the event that the virus enters the body, it stops the spread of the virus and its ability to copy inside the cell, as it is very safe, and the minister took the separated source from it The protein, from the first time we were contacted, knew the details.
